What PUHLIVE shows
One map shows two things at once: which Ukrainian regions are under an air raid alert right now, and where airborne threats — Shahed attack drones, jet-powered Shaheds, cruise and ballistic missiles, guided bombs — are at this moment. Most alert maps show only the first; most drone trackers only the second. Here both layers sit on top of each other, so you can see why a region is under alert.
Besides the map there is a list of what is flying now, an event log (new target, type change, crossing into another region, alert start and all-clear), tracks of every target for the last hours and daily statistics. Everything refreshes every few seconds.
How to read the map
Each target has an icon and a dotted trail — the path it actually flew over the last 30 minutes. The nose of the icon shows the direction of flight, not where it will land. A semi-transparent target means there is no fresh data and it is shown where the official map estimates it should be. The blurred “fog” around a target is the area where it may be: the source sees targets in grid squares several kilometres wide, so a bigger patch means a less precise position.
Codes like S12 or J3 are our own running numbers: the letter is the target group (S — Shahed, J — jet Shahed, R — missile, K — guided bomb, U — unidentified), the number is its order. Duration, distance and average speed are our estimates and are marked with “≈”. “Dropped from data” means the source stopped showing the target — it does not mean it was shot down.
Where the data comes from
All data comes from the official public air raid alert map of Ukraine, map.ukrainealarm.com, which anyone can open. We take its public snapshot every few seconds, keep target tracks and show them with the same delay as the official map. We never know anything sooner than the source and do not add anything of our own to target names.
PUHLIVE is not an official source of alerts. The site can lag, miss things or be temporarily unavailable. If you are in Ukraine, act on sirens, the official “Air Alert” app and local authorities — go to a shelter without waiting for the map. The interface is translated automatically from Ukrainian; place names on the map stay in Ukrainian.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an air raid alert in Ukraine right now?
Regions under alert are coloured on the map, with the start time in the list next to it. If no region is coloured, there is no alert according to the official data.
Is this the official Ukrainian alert map?
No. The official map is map.ukrainealarm.com (the “Air Alert” app). PUHLIVE shows the same data on alerts together with target tracks, an event log and statistics, with the same delay.
What does “dropped from data” mean — was the drone shot down?
Not necessarily. It only means the official map stopped showing the target. We do not know why and do not guess.
Why is a region under alert with no targets above it?
Alerts are not declared only because of a marked target. Some threats, like a general threat to a region, are shown without markers. We display what is in the official data.
